The Kia EV9 fits into the ever-evolving Kia model lineup very nicely as the first 3-row all-electric SUV option. Other all-electric options in the Kia model lineup include the Kia EV6 and the Kia Niro EV, which are both great EV options if you are looking for something a bit smaller than the Kia EV9.
As many EV drivers have grown accustomed to, the Kia EV9 is equipped with a functional "frunk" for extra storage due to the omission of a traditional gas-powered engine. And because the EV9 is a larger vehicle than the EV6, it also has a larger frunk, allowing for even more cargo space. This gives the EV9 extra cargo space that you wouldn't be able to find on similarly sized large SUVs like the Telluride.

Exceptional driving range is achieved in the new Kia EV9 due to its 76.1kWh battery offered exclusively with the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) 'Standard' model, and then its outstanding 99.8kWh battery fitted in both the RWD 'Long Range' and All Wheel Drive (AWD) 'Performance' variants. This 99.8kWh battery is what allows the 3-row EV to realize its range of approximately 336 miles* on a single charge, and approximately 148 miles* with just 15 minutes of charging via an ultra-fast 800-volt charger.

Perhaps the most defining exterior feature of the Kia EV9 is its digital pattern lighting grille accompanied by its vertical headlamps that give the 3-row SUV a sharp, modern style. The front fascia also features an innovative Star Map LED daytime running lamp (DRL) that brings an animated lighting pattern. This lighting pattern is known as the EV9's signature Digital Tiger Face. All of these exterior details on the front-end come together to create a sophisticated look while also providing a new illumination experience.
When looking at the Kia EV9 from behind, the electric SUV is a bit simpler than in the front. The Kia EV9 tailgate features smooth lines accompanied by slim rear lights that subtly reflect the EV's front-end. Even with the simple, modern design of the rear you will still be able to instantly recognize the EV9 on the road while driving behind it.

On the inside of the Kia EV9 you will notice a very clean and modern look. This is highlighted by a pair of 12.3in screens. The first for the gauge cluster and the second for infotainment. You will find that there are a minimal number of physical buttons inside the Kia EV9 due to its intuitive and sleek design.
Equipped with a long wheelbase and its industry-transforming Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Kia EV9 provides ample space for all seven passengers. Comfort and spaciousness were clear priorities when designing this 3-row EV.

As we've all come to expect from Kia vehicles, the new Kia EV9 is loaded with standard safety features. Some of the great EV9 safety features include:

The Blind-Spot Monitor System that comes standard on all new Kia EV9s helps prevent accidents by notifying the driver if another vehicle has appeared within their blind spot or if another vehicle has switched into an adjacent lane and is at risk of a collision. The Kia EV9 uses the sensors located all around itself to check if there are any vehicles within your blind spot or in the lanes beside you. If the sensors detect an oncoming vehicle that is within a certain proximity or is not visible in the driver's blind spot, an audible warning and signal will notify you.
Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) is a system that constantly keeps track of the road ahead and will automatically halt the EV9 if the driver fails to take action when there is an obstacle ahead. The system may also add additional braking force if you are pressing the brake, but not quite hard or quick enough than is needed to avoid a collision. The EV9 AEB system monitors whether there is a vehicle or pedestrian or other obstacles ahead. The ultimate goal of the AEB system is to avoid or at the very least lessen any potential crashes by applying the brakes when sudden dangers arise or if the driver is not taking appropriate action.
Lane Departure Warning (LDW) on the Kia EV9 uses cameras and sensors around the vehicle to detect your lane ahead and if you begin to depart from your lane without the use of a turn signal it will warn you to take control of the car again by using haptic, visual, and audio cues. Lane-Keeping Assist (LKA) will take the LDW a step further and actually automatically assist the driver's steering when the lane departure is detected to help prevent the vehicle from moving out of its lane by correcting the steering to stay within your lane. Note: Like with most of the Kia EV9 safety features, each owner has the option to turn on or off these features. The owner even has the option to decide which aspects of the feature you would like to have on. For example, maybe you want to be alerted when you begin to drift but you don't want the automatic correcting to take place.Â
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is similar to the standard cruise control function that has been around for decades but only more advanced. The key difference is that adaptive cruise control will assist the driver by ensuring their vehicle continues to stay a safe distance from the vehicle ahead with the help of cameras, sensors, and radars. This means that with adaptive cruise control your vehicle will automatically slow down to assure you are keeping a safe distance and then once there is no longer a vehicle close it will speed back up and resume your set cruise control speed. This makes it so the driver doesn't have to worry about constantly turning their cruise control on and off allowing the driver to focus better on the road.
Select Kia EV9 models will allow for a hands-free driving mode on highways in select markets. This system would provide Level 3 automated driving. This works through the EV9 utilizing a series of sensors, radar, and cameras that gives the EV9 a full 360-degree field of view which allows the system to detect and react to the road and all of its surroundings.
